Echoes is a four session workshop for aspiring or established teen poets ages 14-18 committed to producing and sharing work.
The first three sessions will take the form of a round-table critique preceded by a brief lesson. The lesson topics include: On Critiquing; Lessons on Linebreaks; Published Poet Exploration; Lessons in Figurative Language and Sound. Round-table style critiques are an excellent way to share work and receive feedback.
The fourth and last session will be an open mic for participants to share some of their work.
Participants will write either two shorter poems or one longer poem for each critique session and will also be expected to bring hard copies of these poems to each session (enough so each person in the workshop gets one), along with a pen and notebook.
Registration required. Call (203) 245-3959 for registration.
