Sunken Garden In-the-Round Poetry Reading
in the middle of National Poetry Month, Connecticut's premier poetry festival comes to R. J. Julia! Join poets Margaret Gibson, Doug Anderson, and Brad Davis for an unforgettable night!
In 2012, Wesleyan University Press published SUNKEN GARDEN POETRY 1992-2011, the 20th anniversary anthology of Hill-Stead Museum's acclaimed Sunken Garden Poetry Festival. The book contains one poem from each of the hundred-plus featured readings over the festival's first two decades, including poems by many of America's leading poets. In celebration of the
festival and the anthology's publication, this evening's Sunken Garden event will feature three festival/anthology poets reading their poems "in the round" – a lively, semi-improvisational format – followed by a Q&A-style discussion.
This event is FREE.
