Young painter Marjorie Price flew from Chicago to Paris in the 1960's to pursue her dream of becoming a painter. Once there, she fell in love with and married Yves, an emotional Frenchman who was adamant about moving to a dilapidated hamlet in Brittany. Her adventures in the countryside, and the one vital friendship she fosters as her marriage falls apart, are at the center of A Gift from Brittany.
