Directions to RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison, CT
From the south/west (New Haven, New York):
- I-95 North to Exit 61.
- Right at the end of the ramp onto Rte 79.
- Left at third light onto Rte 1.
Our store (with green windowboxes) is 3/4 down the block on the right hand side, across from the movie theatre. There is both on-street parking as well as a back parking lot with a rear entrance to the store. To get to the back parking lot, continue past the store and take a right at the very next light. Then take a quick right into the parking lot. You are welcome to park in the gravel lot closest to the store.
From the north/east (New London, Providence, Boston):
- I-95 South to exit 61
- Left at the end of the ramp onto Rte 79
- Left at third light onto Rte 1
Our store (with green windowboxes) is ¾ down the block on the right hand side, across from the movie theatre. There is both on-street parking as well as a back parking lot with a rear entrance to the store. To get to the back parking lot, continue past the store and take a right at the very next light.
Then take a quick right into the parking lot. You are welcome to park in the gravel lot closest to the store.
From Hartford/Middletown area:
- I-91 South to Exit 22S (Rte 9 South, a left hand exit)
- Exit 13 (New Haven) off Rte 9
- The exit ramp is long; stay to the left
- Left off ramp onto Rte 17 South
- Pass through downtown Durham and bear left at only fork onto Rte 79 South
At the only traffic circle (Circle Pizza and a gas station), continue on Rte 79 South, but note mileage.
About 5.5 miles later you will cross over I-95.
At the third light after you cross over I-95 left onto Rte 1.
