Staff Reviews

Hold on. There are many narratives here, all seem to be telling the story of the same people and events. But which do we trust? Any of them? Is there some truth in each one — or none in any? Or is there truth being held in trust, protected from the contortions of the narrators? All this sounds weird and like a challenge but no, it is grand, rich, a surprise. I loved the author's first novel, In the Distance. This is completely different but with the same wonderful writing and remarkable story.

— Nancy

I often find myself reading books for writing style rather than plot. However, Hernan Diaz's Trust is a work of art that is not only incredibly written, but has a storyline that will keep you at the edge of your seat. A meaningful read you will surely enjoy!

“Hernan Diaz does things I've never seen in a novel before. Trust ties up threads of money and art, family and history, lies and truth. Think historical fiction turned meta, with a beating heart and spectacular writing.”
— Mark Haber, Brazos Bookstore, Houston, TX
