Nearly sixty years ago, a young bear from Darkest Peru set out on the adventure of a lifetime. With nothing but a suitcase, several jars of marmalade, and a label around his neck that read, "Please Look After This Bear. Thank You." he stowed away on a ship to faraway England. When the small bear arrived at London's busy Paddington Station, he was found by Mr. and Mrs. Brown. Fortunately the Browns decided to take Paddington home to live with him.
Paddington's encounter with homelessness didn't last long as he met the Brown family in London's Paddington Station. But 70,000 families across America struggle to find this same sense of comfort and security. The Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness has partnered with Paddington to launch Be Homeful, a campaign to end homelessness before it begins.
